THE BIG IDEA
We develop data science solutions to help in the fight against family abuse and violence
Blind to income level, race, age, occupation, location, and education status, domestic violence and family abuse impacts every town and city in the United States. The numbers of affected parties is so staggering, we encourage viewing intimate partner violence and abuse as a “big data” social problem. For every victim, and every child who witnesses the trauma of household violence, there is an offender who operates within a dataset of conditions that initiated and perpetuates the cycle of violence.
We datafy the repeat offender.
We work with your team of crime analysts to cull insights from the data you already have resident in law enforcement systems and databases. Additionally, we can combine unstructured data and contextual data sources to provide a comprehensive view of offender behavior. Our data analysts can use various qualitative and quantitative methods to identify the most lethal offenders and markers we see in the data to aid in applying preventative policing methods.
UNIVERSITIES AND GOVERNMENT
We team with colleges, research universities, and every branch of government to host and examine large datasets related to intimate partner violence and abuse. By standardizing on data formats and curating open access datasets; policymakers, legislators, and research bodies can benefit from easy access to shared insights, collaboration, and greater transparency.
Our long-term ambition is to establish a comprehensive, open data portal on intimate partner violence datasets available to civic hackers, governments, law enforcement, social service, universities, and state and federal agencies.
