THE BIG IDEA

We develop data solutions to help in the fight against intimate partner violence

Blind to income, race, age, occupation, location, and education level, domestic violence impacts every town and city in the United States. The numbers of affected parties is so staggering, we encourage viewing intimate partner violence as a “big data” social problem. For every victim, and every child who witnesses the trauma of household violence, there is an offender who operates within a dataset of history and conditions that perpetuate the cycle of violence.
We datafy the dangerous repeat offender.

Law Enforcement - Big Mountain Data

LAW ENFORCEMENT

We work with your Command staff and team of crime analysts to cull insights from the data you already have in law enforcement systems and databases. Additionally, we can combine unstructured and contextual data sources to provide a comprehensive view of offender behavior. Our data analysts apply various qualitative and quantitative methods to identify lethal markers present in the data to aid in applying preventative policing methods.

Social services - Big Mountain Data

SOCIAL SERVICES

We work with nonprofits and community organizations, tracking the efficacy of offender and victim/family counseling and support programs. By analyzing a confluence of factors, we can provide area women’s shelters and children’s programs the evidence-based solutions donors demand.

Government and Universities - Big Mountain Data

UNIVERSITIES AND GOVERNMENT

We team with colleges, research universities, and every branch of government to host and examine large datasets related to intimate partner violence and abuse. By standardizing on data formats and curating open access datasets; policymakers, legislators, and research bodies can benefit from easy access to shared insights, collaboration, and greater transparency.

Our long-term ambition is to establish a comprehensive, open data portal on intimate partner violence data available to communities, governments, law enforcement, universities, and social service agencies.
